Personal Skills Brought to Project:
Knowledge about dogs, cats, and their needs, personal experience with animals, how to work with them, know how to understand the animals so you don’t make them feel uncomfortable around people or other dogs,

IV.     LEARNING OBJECTIVES

What specifically you expect to learn or develop from this service learning experience (explain how you will achieve your learning outcomes?)

A.       Undertaking new challenges: Since I am used to working with medium sized dogs, I could try out working with tiny or (an even bigger challenge) huge dogs.

B.       Working collaboratively with others: I already have a couple of my close friends in this project, I could hang out with other people too so I get to know them better. Like this I know who I can go to when there is something wrong with an animal or if I need help with something.

C.       Show perseverance and commitment: I don’t think I’ll have a problem in this area because I love hanging out with animals, but to show perseverance and commitment I would know exactly what my tasks are, know what to do and where to bring the dogs/cats if they are hurt or sick, put my full potential into my tasks and complete them by the end of the day.

Other

On-site activities that will enable you to meet your learning objectives and off-site materials, books, research and activities that will aid you in fulfilling these learning objectives:
I can research in the library or online different ways to treat puppies/dogs/kittens/cats depending on what we need them to do. Maybe they are very active and we need them to calm down, I can search different techniques to get them distracted or get them to focus.
How you will evaluate your progress in reaching these learning objectives:
I can ask others what they think I do well and what I should improve along with if I met any of the learning objectives and if I am any close to meeting any.

Fail Safe (what you will do, as a minimum alternative, if the proposed plan fails):
If we are not able to visit the SPCA one day, for some reason, instead we can brainstorm ideas and other fun activities to do there the next time we visit. If the pets are in any need of anything, we can find ways to earn money to make that possible for them.
