2014-2015 SPCA Reflection 2

I chose this photo to demonstrate an idea of the atmosphere of the SPCA because it greatly shows exactly the spark that a dog feels when they see a human. They are locked up day after day, everytime they see even the slightest of a person other than the SPCA workers, they fill with so much excitement and hope that they can finally have a home. It's quite sad, actually, because if you try to picture these poor creatures over night, or alone, they appear so lonely and lost. Also, considering that this SPCA that the school visits is the one in Midrand, and not many people come here compared to others such as in Pretoria. These dogs have an even smaller chance of leaving the place, and as sad and wrong as it is, we all know what happens to dogs that are not adopted for a long time...
Some people forget that because dogs are not human, they must not matter as much. Many dogs are more friendly, protective, and attentive than many more humans out there. Dogs are worth a lot more than most people make them out to be, and therefore should be helped and cared for. Dogs end up caring a lot more in the end, and it's upsetting that many people don't notice.
